Lessons teach the ideas. Tournaments are where ideas get real. We run a calendar of in-house events, inter-branch matches, rated junior tournaments — plus school holiday camps that pack a week of chess into five fun mornings.
Each school break we run a holiday camp at one of our metro venues. Mornings are split between coached sessions, mini-tournaments, puzzles, simul matches with senior coaches, and just enough off-board chaos to keep it fun.
We run our own events specifically because most kids' first tournament is intimidating. Ours aren't.
Open events suit any level. Rated events are for students whose coach has signed them off. Beginner-Friendly Fridays are exactly what they sound like.
No third-party booking sites, no booking fees. Register direct, pay direct, get a confirmation that tells you exactly where to be and when.
Pairings on the wall, coaches on the floor, parents in the spectator area. Snacks at half time. Trophies at the end. Cuddles in the car for a tough loss.
Spectators are welcome at every event. Parents often come along to one before signing their child up — there's no pressure either way.
